Problem #1

My Vacuum pump runs to long and recycles every 10 minutes.

Possible solution

Depending on the age of the system the normal thing to check would be the Duck Bill valves in the Vacuum Pump. There are 4 valves in the pump ( part # 347802) and they should be changed every 2 or 3 years.

When the valves are old and worn they allow vacuum to escape back into the system and the pump will recycle. This diagnosis would assume that the rest of the system is good condition.

Problem #2

My vacuum toilet will not hold water in the bowl and the Vacuum Pump will not shut off.

Possible Solution

The Bowl seal (Part # 316140 or 311462) depending on the year and model of the toilet will need to be replaced. It might also be advisable to change the ball & shaft kit at the same time( part # 318162)

The air leaking into the system will prevent the pump from building enough vacuum to shut the pump off and may cause the pump to burn out.

Problem #3

 There is no vacuum to flush the toilet and the bowl fills with water.

 Possible Solution

The first thing to check is to be sure that the system is turned on and has power. Assuming that the system is in good condition and has power this symptom would indicate that the toilet is clogged at the base of the toilet .To solve this problem first shut off the incoming water to the toilet to prevent the toilet from overflowing. With the system turned on step on the pedal and you will probally find that too much paper has been introduced to the toilet and has clogged the opening in the funnel. Useing a long dowel rod or screwdriver try and break up the paper which will allow the vacuum to take hold and draw the paper through the system. Once the toilet is clear flush several times and run a lot of water through the system.
