There are many things that can cause odor problems aboard a boat or yacht but the most common complaint is odor from the holding tank or sanitation system.

a common source of odors is due to using salt water to flush the toilets. Salt water when left stsnding in the toilet bowl or in the plumbing of a system can cause a sulpher like smell when the toilet is flushed. This will cause an odor not only in the head area but also causes offensive odors to escape from the holding tank vent. There is not much that can be done about the odor at the head unless the toilet system can be switched to fresh water flush or some type of additive that could be introduced into the toilet flushing water.

As for the tank vent odor the two things that can be done is to use Sealand holding tank deoderant and add a Sealand Saniguard Vent filter to the vent line of the holding tank system. The Saniguard Vent filter controls the odor by trapping the odor in an activated charcoal filter that absorbs the odor and prevents them from escaping thru the vent fitting.

In blind testing it was proven that Sealand Saniguard filters outperform the competitors by 2.4 to 1 in odor control.

These products are used by most major boat manufacturers such as.

Beneteau, Carver, Chapperell, Cruisers, Four Winns, Hinckley, Larson, Mastercraft, Monteray, Ocean Yachts, Princess, Pursuit, Regal, Sabre, Sea Ray, Silverton, Sunseeker, Thunderbird, Tiara, Tracker, Viking, Wellcraft

Replace the Saniguard filter every season for best results
